Monemvasia Winery was founded in 1997 in Monemvasia in the region of Laconia (near Sparta) by Yorgos (George) and Elli Tsimbidi. Since the production and demand grew, George and Elli brought on their daughters Marialena and Anastasia to help with general management and marketing. This 100% Assyrtiko has a rich but refreshing palate full of fresh citrus fruits and minerality.

Elisabetta Foradori’s wine life began suddenly at the age of 19 with the unexpected death of her father, requiring her to take over management of the family estate in the foothills of the Dolomites in Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy, initially more from a sense of duty, but soon passion and vocation came through the work itself both in the vines and cellar. The grape Terodelgo (relative of Syrah and Pinot noir) was mainly used for bulk wine production, but Elisabetta’s goal was to prove that the grape could produce elegant and nuanced wine, which she did and in the 90's became known as the queen of Teroldego. She continued down a path of questioning, experiment and intuition (including biodynamics, massale selection and aging in amphorae) that led her to develop the estate towards making wines that were respectful of the soil and local grapes and using more interesting, less invasive and holistic techniques. Her three lovely children are now involved in evolving the winery to its next phase. This 100% Teroldego is delightful with ripe, blackberry flavors.

Catarina Vieria’s love for nature was instilled in her from a young age - her grandfather on her mother’s side was a wine producer and merchant, and her grandfather on her father’s side was in agriculture and owned several vineyards in Alentejo. Her father ‘s company purchased the estate in 2000, and after the Viera family took over the winery, they made a conscious decision to not only invest in the land and produce higher quality wine, but to also invest and make sustainable contributions to the development of the region. Inspired by her love and respect for her grandparents, her father and her family, her connection with nature, and a true and unwavering passion for wine, Catarina strives to create wines that are elegant, complex and strong. This 100% Touriga Nacional is rich and intense with black berry and plum fruits flavors and floral and wild herb notes.
