Meet Ganevat (aka Fan-fan), the Jura Originalist

We’re big ‘fans’ of Fan Fan! This amazing estate produces some of the most sought after and hard to get wines. Jean-Francois’ family had lived in La Combe, a tiny hamlet in southern Jura, since the 14th century.

He farms 6 hectares (about 15 acres) that are split up into a ridiculous amount of micro plots (say about 40?! that he vinifies separately - which helps explain why these wines are so hard to get every year (well that and plus they are delicious).

These are classic, world class wines that happen to be completely natural- no chemicals in the vineyards, hand harvested, native yeast, unfined, unfiltered and no sulfur added. The whites are dense and complex and the reds are weightless and ethereal.
